I have been saving for a year for a car, and now I have about $4000 in my bank. I’m a Senior in High School and I’m planning to attend UC Irvine this August. But my parents strongly disagree in me buying a car because 1. I just got my license, 2. she said college has prepared everything for freshmens so I won’t need a car, and 3. parking lot and insurance fee are too expensive for people under 21.
What she said make sense to me, but I don’t think I’ll survive without a car. Because I grew up in Asia, I’ll be going to Costa Mesa a lot to get stuff that can’t find in Albertson or Vons. Also since I used to live in that area, I’ll like to visit my friend that goes to M SAC, which is 30 min driving away from Irvine.
Once when my parents went to China, and I lived alone for 2 weeks, I found myself needing to use the car everyday, like buying water, going to the Post Office, etc…
So I want to ask how important is a car to you in college. Will I survive without a car?

I have currently just gotten back into a community college. I’m 24 years old and I have finally decided that I want to become a nurse. My plan originally is to transfer to a cal state where I can earn my bachelors degree. However, I am now reconsidering to go to a community college with a nursing program to earn my associates first, get a job and work while earning my bachelors. My community college does not offer a nursing program. Does this mean I need to move schools that offer a nursing program. I know that it’s not easy to get into nursing programs in community colleges because of the whole lottery thing but would it make it easier for me to get in if I finish all my GE’s there rather than my current college. I just moved to Costa Mesa and I go to OCC. Will anyone please give me some advice on finding a good nursing school that offers AA?

I’m looking for a cosmetology program at a local community college (So Cal) and it has to be a community college for financial reasons (don’t get me wrong, I’d love to just do Paul Mitchell in Costa Mesa). I was wondering if anyone has gone to Golden West College’s cosmetology program (or any community college’s cosmetology program in southern california) and if so what was your experience.

What are some really good colleges in the southern california ? Preferably around Los Angeles and Costa Mesa area. I’m looking for a college with a very good reputation and i’m planning on going to law school. Yale and Harvard are already out of the question since there’s no way I can afford that, so colleges that are a step down from those 2 but still really good colleges.

I would like to know the pros and cons of Whittier Law School (Costa Mesa) and Texas Wesleyan (Fort Worth). Which law school is better? Has anyone attended? What would you say about both? Please help! I have been accepted to both, but cannot decide now…I need advice! Thanks in advance…
Ideally, I’m a west coast girl, but I am not sure really which state I want to practice in. California is the more appealing option, but Texas seems more reasonable, financially speaking. But I would rather **** it up and shell it out if Whittier proved to be a better option…I have heard about their ABA accreditation, but I think (hope) it would be resolved by the time I would graduate…please! Let me know more!

I am currently in my second semester at Orange Coast College (community college) in Costa Mesa, Ca. However, I am trying to figure out which school I would like to transfer to once that time comes. I am thinking that I want to major in psychology, but I’m still unsure. My dream school is a small school where everyone knows everyone probably out in the country somewhere. A college that I have in mind is University of Nebraska at Kearney because it seems like the dream school I just described (and I have extended family in Beatrice, NE). If I decide to choose psychology as my major, would University of Nebraska at Kearney be a good fit for me?
